The Gray Wolves are a tactical Airborne Electronic Attack squadron against targets at sea or ashore in support of U.S. and Coalition combat forces, flying the EA-18G Growler. VAQ-142 is part of Carrier Air Wing Eleven, attached to the USS Nimitz strike group. When not deployed, VAQ-142 is home based at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI), Washington.
