Strike Fighter Squadron 27 (VFA-27), is a carrier based air strike and strike force escort squadron of the United States Navy flying F/A-18E Super Hornets. They are based at Naval Air Facility Atsugi in Japan and part of Carrier Air Wing 5 attached to the USS Ronald Reagan, tail code NF. This coin celebrates the squadron’s 50th anniversary in 2017 and I obtained it directly from the squadron snack officer.
