Strike Fighter Squadron 15 (VFA-15) was a McDonnell Douglas F/A-18CHornet unit of the United States Navy, based at Naval Air Station Oceana. The squadron, known as Valions was in service from 1 August 1968 to 31 May 2017, when it was deactivated. Prior to this VFA-15 was attached to CVW-8 and USS George HW Bush (CVN 77) Carrier Strike Group. This large Chief Petty Officer (CPO) Coin was obtained directly from the squadron shortly before they deactivated.
