On June 6, 1944, C-47 That’s All, Brother lead the main aircraft steam carrying paratroopers from the 101st and 82nd Airborne divisions over the drop zones in Normandy, France. After D-Day, That’s All, Brother went on to serve in  Operations Market Garden, Repulse and Varsity before being returned to the United States and sold to the civilian market in 1945.

As That’s All, Brother passed through several owner the historical of its involvement in D-Day was lost and it was eventually sold for scrap. Awaiting its fate in a Wisconsin scrapyard, two historians from the United States Air Force discovered the aircraft.  Through a large group of donors and volunteers the Commemorative Air Force was able to acquire the airplane and restore it to flying status in its original D-Day paint scheme, along with a thorough historic interior restoration.
